My 1dMKIII was away for the third recall last month! All seems well but this new advisory has me thinking if Canon would have attended to this with the recall units.

Just remove the lens, and look at the mirror box. It will be obvious if it has too much lube. If it does, use a PEC pad and remove it yourself.

They really seem to have a talent for undermining their own product at the moment. I have started a poll to see whether this alleged "problem" is a bit of a storm in a teacup. So far the responses are limited (14 so far) but nobody has yet seen the problem with their kit. If you have a 1D3 please add your findings to the poll....
