5D II and Elements 6 raw converter

Does anyone know how I can update Elements six so I can download 5D II raw photos.

I have tried the following updates 5.2 and 5.3 putting them in the filem format folder within elements six as per the directions on the adobe website but get a message saying it cannot open it because it is the wrong type of file.

I have deleted any older versions in the folder

Any advise would be appreciated

As far as i know, you need to have PSE v7 to drive ACR v5.x. As ACR v4.x does not support your RAW format, you're stuck and need to upgrade to PSE v7.

Correction: According to Adobe, ACR v5.x works with PSE v6, so you have to solve another issue...

The other way is to convert the RAWs to DNG with the standalone converter from Adobe and open the DNGs with your PSE v6 / ACR v4.x combo.

Thanks, I will try and give adobe a ring as I have tried version 5 but no joy. It works fine in the tial version of lightroom 2 I have but only lasts for another couple of weeks

Phoned up the nice man from Adobe who has sorted is out.

My main problem is I downloaded a zip file and did/could not unzip it. I did not have the option when I right clicked on it. I have windows vista.

If anyone has similar problems do the following
from the support section on adobe.com download 5_3and save it.
Right clic on it and click on extract and skip the next paragraph.

If you don't get the option to extract download this clicking on 32 bit or 64 bit depending on which version you have. This will enable you to open the downloaded file from Adobe
When it is downloaded double click on it to install it.
Then go back the the 5_3 folder that you have downloaded and right click on it.
Select the third option 'extract to raw 5_3
It will then unzip the folder by creating a copy

Click on the new folder and double click on the folder camera profiles and let it install.
Then right click on camera raw and copy.

Paste this in file format and if it tells you it is already there then click on copy and replace.
