I normally post over in the Birds forum, with occasional forays into the Wildlife forum, so this is a departure for me. The breeder of our 8 year old Weimaraner, Micah, was boarding 3 Weims for a client that had a litter mate of Micah. We also have another Weim that we rescued, who turned out to be related to Micah (we did not know it at the time we rescued him), and the offspring of one of the Weims being boarded at the breeders. So Joy (the breeder) invited us over along with our two dogs and we had a mess of Weiamraners running around. I thought I'd share some of the fun photos.

These are really more snapshots than the type of photography I'm used to. The light was challenging, and I wasn't trying for art here. In any event, they are more just fun than anything else. It was late afternoon with a lot of trees. The light was... challenging.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy them. C&C is always welcome.

This is Micah (aka "Moofy"). He's 8 years old and weighs 95 lbs (and not overweight!).

Here's our other Weim, Charlie. Charlie is 4 years old, and Violet (who you will see below is his dam, Velvet is his litter mate, and Viggo is from a different litter with the same sire and dam (Violet).

Here is Violet, who is Micah's litter mate

Here is Viggo, who is from Violet's 2nd litter, so he's still sort of Charlie's brother and Micah's nephew.

Here is Jaeger who is a rescue that Ken & Joy (the breeders) own.

Here is the family portrait. First row, left to right: Jaeger (an un-related rescue owned by Joy), Madison, the grand dam (Micah and Violet's dam). Back Row, left to right: Velvet (Charlie's litter mate), Violet, Viggo, Charlie, and Micah

But I think I like this one better in Black & White with a Sepia treatment:

Nice shots, Ed! I especially like the whole family shot - I know how hard those are to set up!

I find Weimeraners are one of the hardest breeds to lock AF onto. There's no contrast at all.

Ed, is there a way I can get a full size image of the "family portrait" for printing? My wife used to have a weimaraner and she loves your picture.

Those guys are too cute!

I'd be happy to send you a full sized image file in Jpeg format, with the caveat that you leave my copyright/Signature intact. I'll keep it discreetly small. I have to prepare the image for printing a bit differently anyhow.

Did you want the B&W or the Color image, and where should I send it to? I think you can email me via my profile info.

I love the Sepia family shot. Very pensive, attentive pose from the gang.
