Went to the Joe Nall this weekend over in Greenville SC. This is a the world's largest RC event. Matt Chapman performs a noon time demo in his Cap 580 that is amazing.

Here are a couple pics:

Nice shots.

Great shots. I enjoyed the album set too. Looks like those guys knew how to hover rather well. I have to wonder just how well the electronics would have liked things if the engine stalled during a tail dip.

Jon,

Nice shots. What lens did you use to get the great pics of Matt Chapman?

Haven't been to Joe Nall since Pat held it in his backyard in Greenville. I got out of R/C about 10 years back since the kids were just getting too old and needed more of my attention. Started getting too expensive too! Especially with 4 kids....
Do they still require you to have an AMA membership to attend? I loved building those big birds. Built a Ziroli Corsair, 8' wingspan Weeks Solution, Balsa USA Stearman just to name a few. Just never spent the time needed flying to get comfortable with that much $$$$ in the air.

Yup.. If you are going to fly on at a sanctioned club field you must have an AMA membership. Or if your lucky enough to live on a 20acre plot of land and its at your own discretion.

Yeah i know about the money.... Trying to keep up photography and rc aircraft is damn impossible.
