I have successfully used this at the ranges mentioned in earlier post. I just order some nonworking pocketwizard to try to mod them in. One of my best investments. Now for a laptop for on location shooting and it's over.

50 bucks i what i paid a week ago for 24gb of ultra II cards ;)

Even if this wireless USB slowed down computer to 'next to nothing', youd still transfer faster than those Ultra II cards do!

Cool stuff,. would like to see if live view works on a Canon... though that would not prevent me from using this.

Petesai, .. Your the guy from the link using it with Nikon?
Love the AA solution. That's a good way to go..

I wonder if they could survive 7.2Volts?
That's a BP-511, and would be a nice long lasting solution for those with a lot of them, though making the connections would be tougher than getting a 4AA holder.

Those Mac commercials take place in an alternate universe.

how much soldering has to be done? someone should definitely start producing these with the battery packs, they'd probably make a killing

You would not need to modify/solder the unit itself.. it has a jack to plug in the AC Power brick..
One would only need to get a pack designed for 4 batteries, and then add on (solder) the correct plug and short wire to the pack. One could find a new plug at Radio shack, or use the one from the USB transmitter, if you did not mind taking the one from the AC wall wart.

Can somebody draw up a diagram of how you are wiring up the cables and batteries to the camera and dongle? Thanks to anyone who can.
