I am (finally) getting ready to order the Epson 3800 printer and need to order at least $100 worth of Epson papers (in order to qualify for the printer rebate).
Can anyone recommend some Epson papers that work well with the 3800? Which papers do you use?

I love the Ultra Premium Luster paper with my 3800. If you do the set up correctly (color management), the results from the 3800 on this paper are stunning.

Yeah but it gets complicated because of the rebate. The paper purchase has to be on the same invoice and it all has to be done by the end of the week. I'm hoping B&H can take care of this easily. Otherwise its all going back and I'll get something else.

You've probably done this already, but just in case, have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling the printer? Also, I know you've consulted with Tech Support, but they've been known to be, shall we say, rather clueless, particularly if there is a language problem, i.e.; the rep's native language is different from yours. Anyway, you may want to look at Eric Chan's FAQ before you make your final decision:

Yes I have read Eric Chans site and got familiar with the printer and software. The problem is a hardware issue not software, reinstalling isn't going to solve the issue. Epson tech support was pretty good to me. They seemed to have a good handle on everything, answered the phone quickly, and were generally very professional. I can't complain about them at all.

Thanks, I was just trying that paper when I got the failure. The first 8.5x11 printed about 90% on the Ultra Premium Luster before it failed. The print looks good other than bottom 10% is missing! My wife even said "Wow!"

Glad to hear it, David. It's a mean little machine, ain't it? I always thought my 2400 was pretty good, but the very first print I got off the 3800 knocked my socks off. Have fun!
