I downloaded the freeware www.startrails.de (external link) and have never been able to get it installed properly. It keeps telling me there is a bug in it. What can I do, or what other programs can I use?

That's strange, I downloaded it ages ago and it loaded first time. Windows XP Media Centre is what I use...perhaps it doesn't work on other platforms.

I don't know what else there is you could use, but I'm sure someone will.

Hmmm... We, too, have Windows XP. I even downloaded the program from Windows that it said I would need in order for it to run properly.

Just downloaded it to my work PC, (I downloaded the ZIP file), unzipped the files to a folder on my Desktop, ran it, selected my language, and it worked straight away.

That's exactly what I did. It unzips, but when I try to run it, it says there is a bug. I did a screen shot to show you what I mean:

When I try to debug, nothing happens at all. Are there any other apps that do star trails?

I just downloaded and it started up w/ no problems (at work on a "managed machine" no less). Have you tried running the Windows Updater (or gone directly to Microsoft's site) to see if there are any updates to your .NET framework?

bishop13, that is exactly what I did, with the same results, no less. I'm not really sure what is going on. I even deleted the original download to see if there was something wrong because I had NOT downloaded the latest .NET framework. Still did the same thing. Hmmmm... ???

Strange strange strange. I just downloaded at home and worked like a charm again. Have you tried downloading the zip file again and extracting to/running from another folder aside from the Temporary Internet Files folder (maybe the desktop)?

That might be an idea, but I'll have to try it when I get home from work!
