My Canon 50D is a couple months old. I also have a 40D. Yesterday I was shooting a golf outing and had my 24-70 2.8 lens on it. I started to have focus issues later in the day. The groups were shaded pretty well but the sun was on some trees behind them. I had my 70-200 2.8 on my 40D and took several steps back and got the shot.
Today I was shooting the Byron Nelson golf tournament. I had my 70-200 on the 40D. All was going well until I put the 70-200 on my 50D. I started to have focus issues. Cleared all settings to make sure nothing funky was going on. Seemed most of the issues came in AI Servo .... BUT ... same setting on 40D with that 70-200 were fine. I kept swapping the lens back.forth etc.
It was very bright, no clouds but still the 40D did well. Any ideas?
