I've been thinking of picking up some Sigma lenses (70-200 2.8 and 150-500 OS). They
are about $230 cheaper from Sigma4Less than B&H, Adorama, etc. This seems like a
GREAT deal, but I've heard mixed reviews on Sigma4Less.

Some people have perfect transactions, but once in a while someone gets a gray market
lens or has some other type of issue and the Sigma4Less customer service is basically
non-existent.

Reseller ratings only has 121 reviews for them and only 4 in the last 6 months! The 6
month rating is horrible, but the lifetime rating is up to par with Adorama.

If anyone has dealt with them in the past, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts (both
good and bad). It is quite a price difference or I wouldn't even be considering them.

I was looking buying my 30mm from them, but they are not a licensed Sigma dealer according to Sigma's website. So technically your warranty is not valid. In reality, you could probably get it honored, but why take the risk? The warranty is 4 years, so you might as well make sure it is valid when buying new.

not to be a xxxx but if you search this has been asked a ton of times and I am pretty sure all the answers are the same

I just got a tamron TC from them I ordered it on thursday, I got it on tuesday by chosing std shipping

I have ordered other things without issue either

and to my knowledge the warranty still works regardless I bought lenses from them and it had the warranty cards

I just brought a 50-150mm from sigma4less just couple weeks ago and experience has been terrible. This has been my worst experience every in terms of buying stuff online.
Would avoid them from now on. Stay Away.

I bought my 30mm from them with no issues. I thought I was buying gray market, but I got the 4 year warranty. I sent the lens into sigma for calibration as it had front focusing issues and they had no problem accepting and honoring the warranty. they knew it was bought from sigma4less because you have to include the receipt when you send it in.

like everything else, you're going to find people who had good experiences and bad. this goes for all the usual places, B+H, adromona, amazon, ebay, etc....

I've made multiple purchases with no problems FWIW.

It's been more than a year though

I think like a lot of sites, the good transactions go just fine, but the bad ones really determine if the site is worth ordering from again!

I've bought from them twice, Sigma 18-50 2.8 and Sigma 50 1.4. Both times arrived quickly and smoothly. The Sigma 50mm I returned within a week because I found a 50L, and again, no problems whatsoever. No restocking fee either. I would buy from them again.

I'd also like to know what issues you had?

Brought mine lens from there around 2 month ago. Before I ordered, I specified that I want the lens to be check before sending to me. I lived in Canada. The agent agreed and told me to mention that in the notes when I sent my payment. I than added that note and send my payment. Around a week later I got my lens but the lens is having a terrible focusing problem, hence they did not check. I called in to sigma4less , and mention the problem. I asked the customer agent there regarding if I have to pay for the return shipping since I had requested them to checked before sending. The agent told mention that if there is a problem with the lens, they will refund my return shipping ( Since I had requested a QC before them sending.) I than sent my lens back to them ( roughly $80cnd including insurance). I called again and requested them to please QC again. Another week and half later, I finally received my lens. Not only they send out using just standard shipping in which I paid for express, the focusing is way off. Even worst than the first copy. At this time, I am really upset. Called them regarding the issue and talked to the manager. Manager told me that they will never checked the lens for QC since that is there policy. I told her that her customer agent agrees on that request or else I wouldn't had ordered. After a lengthy agreement, I decided to keep the lens and sent that lens to sigma for calibration. I than requested the credit for the return shipping. And guess what, they refused. She say that there policy stated that customer pays for return shipping. I mention that this is a special case since I had requested a QC check. So it is not my fault if they were too lazy to checked the lens before shipping to me. I had requested them to do so, and especially mention about the back/front focusing. So after another lengthy arguments, she agree to credit me back $20. At this time, I don't care anymore. I just take that offers and hung up since I am about to erupt. I just checked my account ( 10 min ago) , and the $20 credit that was promise had yet to be seen. Around 2-3 weeks since I talked to the manager at sigma4less, so assume that credit will never be process.

Personally I will never order anything from them again. I can never trust their word. They basically lied to me couple times.Their Price of sigma lens is probably one of the cheapest on the net, but personally since this experience I would rather paid a tad more and received better customer service. I should had ordered from BH instead.

out of curiosity which lens did you get? I know that with the 30mm 1.4 it is known for focusing issues. people have sent the lens back 3 and 4 times and every time received a bad copy. it's really a crap shoot.

I brought the 50-150 EXll F2.8. Guess one of my friend is lucky. He got a good sharp copy of the 30mm 1.4. I recently also acquire the 50mm f1.4 and that lens has a slight front focus problem also, but lucky since I upgrade( 50d) that is fixed by AF microadjustment. Still debating if I should send the 50mm in for calibration. Forgot to mention that he brought his 30mm from BHphoto.
