Questions...(noob)

Hello...first of all, great site and great community...i've found these forums very useful in finding answers and seeing great photos.

Tonight I decided to play with a couple 'star' shots. Well, when viewing the shots a couple of things caught my eye. In one shot there are some circular light patterns in the pic. Is this possible from stray street lamps entering the lense?

2nd, I noticed a red pixel or two on all of the pics I took (pointing a different sections of the sky.

Sounds and looks like lens flare(circular patterns.) Yes. It is quite possible and probable. As for the red pixel, this thread may be of some help. All the best.
