I found a Canon 70-200mm F/4 L (non-IS) for $565!! That's a bargain for a brand new one. Do you guys think I can trust this place?? It just seems sketchy to me. What do you think??

Bad idea. That can get your card canceled, credit line lowered, or other flags put on your account. There is no safe way to purchase from that type of site. The transaction will at least be secured, since the certificate is legitimate, but you really have no protections against the shop.

Dunno what hole you crawled out from, but back in the day before the IS version that was a very reasonable price (maybe a bit low, generally it was 650 or so), but by no means a bargain by those day's standard.;)

Still wouldn't buy from that shop though. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …f_4_0L_USM_Autofocus.html (external link)
Just go to b&h, spend the extra 30 bucks, and be assured you are getting a good deal and still be safe.

EDIT: If for some reason you don't like B&H, get it from adorama at the same price http://www.adorama.com/CA702004AFU.html (external link)

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

For $30 bucks for you might as well get it from B&H,

You get peace of mind and fast shipping plus you know its not some referb or worse,

Not to mention the immorality of intentionally assuming risk at someone else's expense.

Click the link for order tracking. good luck, plus they don't even give you an email address. Stick with B&H or Adorama.

Using your credit card to pay for a product in order to protect yourself against possible issues is not assumption of the risk.

Who's expense? Interest charges, late fees and card fees ALL go to paying for and providing protection for card holders when a transaction goes south. There's a purpose for fraud protection and it gets used every day.

And how exactly is it immoral??

That's like saying that it's immoral to keep a fire extinguisher next to your Christmas tree, and then putting out a fire, even though you know that lots of Christmas Trees catch fire every year.

Newegg had them in stock for $579 but sold out and are expecting a shipment on 5/23 for the same price plus reasonable shipping if not free. If you can wait, they have s sterling reputation and recommend them highly. --->http://www.newegg.com …aspx?Item=N82E16830998379 (external link)

If it is sketchy and you have that feeling, why even try.

There are many great options available.

what are you saying here???

That I am asking this guy to buy it and maybe get ripped off and that I have no problem putting somebody into that situation??

well I will take it as that and this is my reply.

buying anything form a website is always a gamble as you have no idea that it is what you have been told it is but when you find a site that has a good deal I suggest that you buy it with a credit card so if there is a problem you can call the credit card company and get you money back.

I have been in business for 15 years where I use credit cards as a way of getting paid for my product and I have had 3 situations where the card company has refunded the customer there money and in order to get the money back I have to show a signed reciept OR a trackable reciept from a shipping company proving I sent the item.

so if you buy this lens and it never shows up you are fine.
