I just installed CS4 on my new laptop. Is there a file to look for to transfer all the installed actions in one shot?

I know Lightroom has a folder they you can copy and paste on the new computer. I have done that. But now I want to move my CS4 actions but cant find a central folder.

Can anybody help?

I found that folder. There is only 6 actions there. And they are the factory ones. I have about 40 installed and cant find where they went. Even a .ATN search could not help. I can see them, and I can run them. But I cant find them to copy/paste.

If these are actions that you created yourself, there is a very good likelihood that you haven't saved them anywhere. By default, actions are stored in Photoshop's memory register unless you take steps to write them to your hard drive.

So the first step would be to select each action then use the "Save Actions" command from the flyout menu on the right side of the Actions palette to save the action to a location on your hard drive. After writing your actions to your hard drive you can then transfer them to the new computer.

I was trying to avoid that. But that is what I had to do. I was hoping CS4 would save them in a file somewhere like lightroom does with presets.

Thanks for the tips anyway!

Save each folder of actions to a place on your hard drive that's backed up. Open them on the new version of PS. Every time you modify or add an action remember to save the folder, it's not done automatically.
