I am about a week away from ordering the 5DMKii, before i do, i want to know what people's opinion on the 5Dmkii as a camera to shoot weddings ? In terms of AF, noise (i would expect it to be) and focusing speed etc.

Lens wise, i'll use it with a 16-35 and 24-70 and 50/1.4.

I just did a whole wedding with the 5D Mark II + 24-70 L and I can truly say it's a superb camera for weddings. Had no issues focusing in very dim places. The majority of the shots were at ISO 3200 and they look great.

I will edit the shots in a few days and post them some of them in my gallery.

5d itself was a staple camera for wedding photogs for years, no reason it's successor should be any less of a wedding camera.

That said, with those lenses it's not the best, 24-70 is practically the only useful one, since 16-35 will be too wide for a lot, and 50 not wide enough for some, too wide for others. Friend of mine takes all his lenses for weddings and engagements, which includes the holy trinity (35L, 85L, 135L), 24-70, 16-35, 70-200. He does a lot of it with the three primes, simply because they are amazing at all apertures. You don't want to be in the bride and groom's face as they say "i do" after all, so longer lenses can be very useful.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

If the 5D2 isnt good enough to shoot weddings... the photographer would have to be taking pictures with his/her feet!
It's an awesome shooter :)

I've done a couple now and it works a dream, though Im slightly mystified as to why you wouldn't think it would be able to handle a wedding. I know photographers still making their livings using the original 5D and 30D; it isn't exactly a step backwards is it? ;)
