I have been searching for a good backpack for my growing gear list. I currently have the Tamrac Adventure 5 or 6? not 100% sure which one i bought (it has been a couple years). I would like to be able to carry all my gear when i hike, as well as my tripod, and would love to be able to leave the 400L attached to the MkII when in the bag. the problem is i live in Alaska and can't try out a bag so i turn to the wise folks here at POTN for advice. Looking to spend $150-$200 for a good bag that will hold all my gear plus allow room for the addition of a couple more pieces of glass (85, and 17-40) some day in the near future. I would like it to be water resistant, i have looked at the lowepro dryzone series and they are to heavy for my use.

thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I just picked up a ThinkTank Street walker. Really happy with the space inside, comes with a rain cover as well. http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_StWlkrHD.php (external link)

My favorite is the Thinktank Rotation 360, but it might not be big enough to hold all your gear. The advantage of this backpack is that you can access the lower compartment without taking it off.

I love Think Tank products (I have the belt system and an Airport Security) they are built great. I haven't tried any of their backpacks because I already had a Kata Bag HB 205 that I use for hiking. Its got a great amount of room (enough that you can easily add too much weight) and is _very_ comfortable to hike in.
