It seems that the camera must be teathered to the computer :(

Its going to run for $9.99 and $2.99 for a lite version,

You can use live view from you iphone though!

So, as long as your computer's connected to your camera (which functionally means via USB - priced the Canon Wireless transmitters recently?) you can remotely access your computer from your iPhone to trigger the camera. As long as your iPhone is in range of your home WiFi network. Might as well use a netbook and Remote Desktop Connection to your other PC . . .

needing a PC and a wifi connection to make this all work seems like too much
Great idea though...
now make it work with some wireless (via USB) dongle, and it will be a great app!

As much as I would love for this app to be able to bypass a computer and work directly with one of the canon wireless transmitters, (maybe it can, I didn't look too closely) I think this app would be extremely useful when setting up your shot.
How many times have your been setting up a light or some element in your scene and had to run back and forth to your camera to check its position and readjust.
Though I wouldn't trust the uncalibrated iPhone screen for actual shooting though.

iPhone Canon Remote App -- Unreal -- if it works! :)

Ever wish you could shoot with an interactive release? Hold all the info in the palm of your hand while you worked with the client instead of the camera?

Well, here you go!

This has the potential to be VERY cool.......

Wow, that is ridiculous. I am about to buy it just for the hell of it although I don't see too much of a use (for me anyway) for it.

Thanks for posting!

Its very cool that it comes from a very respectable manufacturer -- not some hack in the box outfit.

I would have enjoyed being at apple watching them test it......
