Some good answers here, thanks, and similar to my line of thought.

It's the seemingly endless tweaking to achieve what I thought I saw when I took the shot, only to abandon the edit for another day. The shots I admire most here, are those taken under obvious overcast conditions - maybe that's one of my problems?
