One of the things that Canon seemed to push with the 40D and BG-E2N was weather sealing. I know you wouldn't want to dunk the camera, you wouldn't even want to dunk a 1D. But how capable is it in the rain for example? Or sitting on a table when someone knocks over a drink? I have the impression that the D300 is much closer to the D3 and 1D in terms of weather resistance than the 40/50D (or 5D for that matter) but maybe I am wrong.

I've had my XT, XTi, 40D, and 50D out in the mist and even light rain, but none I would consider even remotely weather sealed. Maybe that little piece of fuzz that they put on the door might keep a speck or two of dust out but there is nothing on the xxxD or xxD bodies that i would consider weather sealing.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
