Except I paid for the upgraded shipping in the first place.
Oops, I'll shut my pie hole then.

But alas... I think I understood it until I mis-read the post that I quoted. Sorry, long frustrating day trying to figure out Elements 6 (coming from 5) and my new Wacom Tablet. Brain is fried. Derek

BUT, if you pay for expedited shipping and do not receive it, file a complaint and see what remedy they'll offer. I have found that Amazon deals very well with complaints and often offers acceptible solutions.

Amazon is not a drop-shipper. They have actual warehouses that they own and operate. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

But in the last year or so, items leaving their warehouse have become slow. It takes about 2 days for in-stock items to ship. Still, they usually have the best prices and free shipping/no tax makes just everything a good deal.

It should be picked that day or the next day (come on it's managed by computer). Special handling is different - it is done ASAP. But there is no reason for it to take more than a few days to get into the shipping system. Exactly my thoughts. I've had free shipping items not go out of their warehouse for 5 days. One day and I wouldn't think twice about it. Two days I probably wouldn't even notice. Five days is just bad customer service regardless if you paid shipping extortion fee or not. I ordered a battery grip from Amazon yesterday with free shipping. Checking the status and the grip will not ship until the 8th.
