I received "The Call" from RogersCamera today. Yes, it was a scam. The guy first tried to sell me a battery for around $200. I told him I didn't need it. He said "how are you going to use a camera without a battery?"
Then he said what I bought was a wholesale package and that the camera was in a plastic frame. If I wanted a magnesium frame for that price, he could sell me another camera with 15 megapixels, and that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I told him to cancel the order which he supposedly did.
Wow! What a scam. Live and learn, I guess. Thanks everyone for the alert. At least I wasn't taken off-guard when he called.
