did you guys leave the filter on the lens when you sent the lens off to canon? will they give it back to you or should you just take it off?

if your focus seems off it can sometimes be due to filters, also with the 5DII you have the micro adjust so you shouldn't need a lens calibrated, no?

I posted this on another thread. I just sent my 24-105 lens in for calibration. They will want $120 to do it if you dont have it registered for the warrenty. I guess doing that online on their site doesnt count either. You have to have a copy of the bill of sale and the warrenty card. Dont send it with filter, or lens hoods. ONLY lens caps.

If its a "sharpness" issue, then I'll have to echo what Skirm17 said... have you tried the AF Micro Adjustment to see if your lens is focusing correctly?

Probably means it's soft even when focused correctly. And if he's talking about his 24-70 when @ 24, well I'm right there with him.

yup...tried it and it didn't work either. had problems on my 40d too. what about all the people out there who don't have micro adjustment?
