I am going for a cruise to Alaska early next month. I am sure there are plenty of spectacular places to photograph but don't know the exact locations.I will spend almost a full day in Anchorage, anything to see there? Need tips. Also should I bring my laptop? so I can process and save the images and see if there is any screw ups? I have 1-8G, 2-4G, 2-1G, CF cards. Thank you for the tips.

The major downtown hotels all have interesting displays and didn't say a word about my taking photographs - mostly of native art. I got some neat photos of Portage Glacier (1/2-day tours leave downtown regularly and include a boat ride on the lake below the glacier), Turnigan Arm (the bay that the highway parallels), etc.. Unfortunately, my photography time was limited and I was hampered by keeping an eye on a bunch of boy scouts, so I didn't get to wander with that specifically in mind. In two weeks, I shot about 16GB of photos. Have a great trip!
