I'm keeping tabs as well. Been talking with Dan via PM about some family camping sites and he reminded me about the shootout. I don't know about a weekday since I am trying to save up my vacation but if something goes on during the weekend I might be able to come.

Any rules against little ones attending? Haley might enjoy some time shooting. :)

My husband isnt wanting to blow his vacation time on this trip either. I would love to go to Biltmore Estate but it would have to be a weekend. And my 2 1/2 year old would be with us as well. I do not know what else is in Asheville as far as attractions with beauty so Ill just wait and see wha the final plan is :)

The Right and Honorable Governor of North Carolina has allowed me to take what she calls "flexible furlough" on July 13th so that I can join you at the Biltmore. :)

As Dan can tell you I might have to sit down from time to time and stairs...well they are a challenge but I'll be there!!

Yep, sorry about the Monday everyone, but I'm going to be in Banner Elk the 2nd through 16th, with commitments the 2nd through 11th and the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games pretty well cutting me off from Asheville and environs for the weekend of the 10-12. So for me it has to be during the 13th-16th.

There seems to be a lot of interest for weekend shooting too...

There's tons to shoot in the Asheville area so no reason we can't conceivably plan something for the weekend too. But the 13th would still be Biltmore...

Among other Asheville attractions...UNCA Botanical Gardens, NC Arboretum, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Grove Arcade, the Grove Park Inn....I am sure we can find plenty to shoot on both the weekend and then the Monday special at Biltmore.

How are the Botanical Gardens? That sounds like something my daughter might enjoy.

Just keep in mind that the closer you get to Grandfather Mountain the slower things will be moving . . .

They opened up that stretch of the Parkway below Mt. Mitchell yet? Any word on why it was closed?
