I have Lightroom 1.4.1 and I would like to jump to Lightroom 2. But I don't want to make the jump if Lightroom 3 is just around the corner.
Any clues out there?

May 26, 2009 20:51 | #4 I don't question if the upgrade is worth it or not. I know it is and want to upgrade. I just don't want to pay $99 for the upgrade and then find out that LR3 is right around the corner and I find myself paying another $99.

Seeing how Lightroom 1 went as far as 1.4 before Lightroom 2 was even announced for beta release, and it took almost 4 months before Lightroom 2 was realised, I would say your safe for a few months anyways. If Adobe does put out a new Lightroom every 16 months (time between lightroom 1 and 2) then they wouldn't release lightroom 3 until the last of 2009 or early 2010. But like Fedka already said, those in the know can't/won't say ( pay is too good )Though since I just bought a Lightroom 2 book, adobe will announce the Lightroom 3 beta next week ![]() Gear: Canon 50D, Canon 17-55 2.8 IS, Canon 70-200L 2.8 IS, Speedlite 430EX

Those minor releases can do a lot. They are typically about 3 months apart, so you may not want to jump on LR3 until 3-6 months after 3.0. Tony
