Not a Wedding Photographer but they keep calling...

I'm not a wedding photographer but they keep calling. It appears there is a photog that isn't doing a good job in the area. These people are pleading with me to shot there wedding. Four calls today and I keep telling the callers that I don't shoot weddings.

Are you asking us what to do? I dont see a question. Why wont you shoot their wedding?

Not asking a question. I'm making a statement. It appears there is a strong market in the Troy, MO area for a wedding photographer. I'm not interestedin wedding photographer. It's not my can of worms.

I have the skills. I just have no interest in shooting weddings. I'll stick with what I enjoy.

I really don't know if the market is any better or worse. What I do know is one of the best wedding photogs (in the area) was killed in a auto accident over a year ago. Since his accident there has been a flood of photogs in the area of those that say they can. Now it's catching up to them. Word of mouth can hurt or do good things. In this case it's making people look other places. I'll stick with what I enjoy. People don't get me wrong - I have nothing against a wedding photog. It's just not my cup of tea.

I don't really understand the point of this post, sorry...Is it to let everyone know you're in demand but don't shoot weddings? Do what you enjoy doing most, it's that simple.

Try it, you just might like it. And if you don't, change your number. You could pay for a new body or something with the windfall.

Maybe if you don't want to shoot weddings, maybe connect with a wedding shooter and send work their way and they'll reciprocate and give you work back.

I have to beat the models off with sticks. I keep telling them naked babes aren't my thing but they keep coming back. I'm thinking about getting a 55 gallon drum of MACE.
