Do you guys know if there is any HDR programs that will work with just one exposure? For example, I took only one picture and I want to try to HDR effect on that picture. I read a lot and many programs require to take 3 exposures of the same scene or subject. Or is it best to take 3 exposures of the same subject and work on HDR from there?

However, are there any good HDR programs you guys know of? Which one do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

As jooowan said, any program can take 3 exposures of the same photo and work with the results. You really need to have a raw image for this, and develop the shot at +1, -1, and 0. Load those three shots into the HDR program.

It is much better to take 3 shots at different exposures, since you'll have a lot more information to work with, and you can widen the exposures (-2, 0, +2 for instance).
