I was taking some pictures of the lemurs at the zoo...there was a moat around their exhibit... when all of a sudden this black swan popped up right in front of my camera. Scared the begeezes out of me and I hit the shutter....didn't realize that I'd even taken the picture until I was looking through my shoot. Laughed my head off when I saw this.....

Way to go, Maureen. That was a great reaction to hit the shutter release. Good old autofocus.

Did you edit the background to get that color, or was it like that? Huge nose, an odd lookin fella.

Yup. That was pretty much the color of the moat.

Hi Maureen - they aren't introverts, are they! A local lady ended up with a fractured skull after a nesting swan went after her. She fell off a nearby enbankment. :(
