Got my 70-200 F/4 on Thursday and took it on vacation with me...and I immediately fell in love with the quality of images I took. Looking at the exif data, I noticed I need to be more aware of my settings as I move inbetween different environments.

1) Orange - I love the colors and the detail! (iso:200; 91mm; F/4; 1/1600)

2) Sad - No cropping needed! (iso:100; 200mm; F/4; 1/500 sec)

3) Rocket Ship (iso:100; 200mm; F/5.6; 1/1600 sec)

If falling in love with a lens is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

When you're ready for a lurid affair, look into primes.

Now you have to start cheating on it and buy a few more.

You have to watch out for those zoom lenses though. One minute they want to be close, and the next they want some space.

With a prime, you always know where you stand.

{hypothetical} son : Dad...whats the hole on the rear of the lens for?
me : I'll tell you what its NOT for...and then you'll understand why I can't go to the camera store anymore.

Only if you start to take it to the bedroom....could be ....a tight fit depending on the lens !

And whatever you do, do not ever, ever rent an 85L. Or 135L. Or 200/2.8L. :)

Unless you can afford to buy them.
