Found this:

I don't get all the bells and whistles, but I do know the product isn't going to be grey market crap.

yep that would be it, that is my choice, if I don't go with the 40D http://www.adorama.com/ICA40DKR.html (external link) . The 40D from what I have seen dose so much better on high ISO for noise, hard choice between the 2 for me... Seems to be some really good stuff going on with the 50D, screen, lens correction are 2, not sure if is worth the extra cost over the 40D, when the 40D dose better on the noise issue.

I'm calling now to see if they offer an extended warranty on the item.

They do, can be gotten right away or you have 30 days after, you can even get it after 30 days, but you would have to ship the camera to them for inspection.

Talked to the representative. He said that "recertified" means that a canon representative use the camera during a trade show. He said they are in great condition and it has a one year warranty. I'm going to get that along with http://www.adorama.com …P.html?searchinfo=imxw2up (external link) for a total of a 3 year warranty.

Sound pretty good?

Just remember... Good old eBay has removed the Neg feed back option, so now (it is best) to look at the pos feed back to see if anyone has written anything neg in their statement.

Why eBay removed the neg is just DUMB, that dose nothing for the buyer, the buyer has no way on letting others now if things fell apart on the deal, well unless they give them POS then write about the problems that should have been NEG feedback. Just Stupid on eBays part.

yo, you got it completely wrong.

it's the *seller* can't do neg feedback, not buyer. it sucks for the *seller*, because buyers can neg feedback all they want, but can't "counter".

I think you better wait for a clarification on what that person told you. Sorry but what I have read here and seen (by buying a referb/"recertified") from the same place, most of that is Bull. I bought a "recertified" 30D, BUT the box says right on it "refurbished".

EDIT... Well I guess to late, you ordered. Don't be surprised if that box says "refurbished", because it most likely will.

HyperYagami... I have bought and sold and I swear I have seen no difference of what you speak, only what I posted above... I guess I could have wrong.

Is this a USA ebay or over seas web site? Oh and "yo" right back at you, I didn't know that word was still being used.

That's fine if it's refurbished. That's why I bought the 2 year (3 years in total) warranty just in case it poops out on me. Thanks regardless Steve.

Well that is one thing I wanted you to check... 1 year warranty is bull, it is only 90 days for referb/recertified. 1 year warranty is for New.

But like you posted, you got the "2 year" extended, but 9 months less is 9 month less.

Let me guess, did you buy over the phone with the person that gave you that warranty info?

Please don't take what I am posting here as 100%, I could have been mislead when I bought my 30D from Adorama. All I can say for sure is one of us has been mislead.

Hah. That's the cold hearted fact when it comes to buying stuff. You never know when your getting mislead. Hah. I didn't buy from the guy on the phone, I called and then ordered online once I checked everything out.

I did ask him however specifically if it was for 2 years including the year they threw in or an additional two years equaling 3 years. Julio said it was for 3 years in total with the 2 year mack warranty.

Calling again to get clarification.

EDIT: Just spoke to them, they just started a new ONE year warranty on all recertified items (May 2nd-3rd/2009). I don't know how I just did it, but the guy also took 50 dollars off the order.. That just covered me my delivery and a little bit of the 2 year warranty. Not to shabby.

EDIT 2: The price of the package dropped from 1174 to 1124 literally after I got done ordering it. The customer service representative (Julio) sent me a price adjustment receipt to verify. He also went out of his way to make sure that I will have the camera before I leave on vacation next friday by putting a rush on the order/upgrading it to a 3 day delivery. Wow, what a great change in service. I was surprised they didn't give me the "The order was already placed, we can't help you" line. That and combined with a three year warranty really helps out. I'll definitely be doing business with them again in the future. Simply a great company A+.:)

Hey man, all apologies. It looks like you are not the ebay seller, as I had incorrectly assumed after the reseller rating post above. Here's the thing -- these posts were fresh on my mind (all are scams):

...and those are just in the last 1.5 months. It appears you went for a reliable seller at Adorama and got a great deal, and I'm sorry I made an incorrect assumption before being able to help steer you in the right direction. Welcome to the forum :)

It's not a problem what so ever. I can understand that you were just trying to defend the forum and also state your thoughts. No worries, and no grudges held. I appreciate your advice all the same. :)

Thanks for the welcome! I also changed my original argument post. :) Stupid late night heated battles. Hah.

How are Feedback Scores calculated?

For each transaction, buyers and sellers can choose to rate each other by leaving Feedback. Buyers can leave a positive, negative, or a neutral rating, plus a short comment. Sellers can leave a positive rating and a short comment.
