I ordered a new battery for my MkIIn from Amazon last week. Since then, I've gotten several small charges ($0.14 - $0.71) deducted from our account. Well, today, there were 2 charges totaling almost $200 from our account from the same companies as the small charges. I went in and talked to the bank and they say they are tied to Amazon. I was able to get the charges removed and my CC canceled. Keep an eye on your accounts!!!!!

If I am dealing with a 3rd party vendor through Amazon or another vendor which I am not comfortable, I will use Paypal to generate a one time use CC #. They can only process the initial transaction and prevents them from storing my CC or other information. It has saved me from many bad transactions.

You can use paypal to generate one-time use CC's?

I know paypal offered a service like this awhile ago. I believe it was called virtual debit card. It was offered to a select few for beta testing. I'm not sure if the service is still offered, or if the beta is still on. You can check it out at: http://www.paypal.com …tlyAskedQuestions-outside (external link)

I've been with paypal for awhile and haven't had the opportunity to try it. I think it was offered to big wig sellers/buyers for beta testing.

I think either Citi or Chase offers the virtual credit card. I think it was Citi.

I totally forgot about such things. Fortunately, our bank has already covered the charges and has issued a new credit card. Our bank will go after the offenders to re-coup their money. When I called to dispute the charges from the companies, they didn't have either mine or my wife's card number registered in their database. I love how they can charge credit cards at will.

Yup. I do it all the time. It even has a plug in for your browser. Works great for me.

Thanks,

Nope. Just a Paypal account. Here is a link to the plug in which generates one time use CC #s among other features. --->https://www.paypal.com …l/NewPayPalPlugin-outside (external link)

Was it from on one of their affiliate sellers? If so can you name them, or at least PM me the name?
