Not the greatest pictures but there is a nice story behind them. A pair of bald eagles decided to nest in the Doral area of Miami in a wooded lot adjacent to new construction. The construction company had to halt construction for some time in order not to disturb them. This was almost two years ago and I posted some pictures back then. Unfortunately there was a fire on the lot and the babies were not ready to fly so they ended up dying. Well the eagles came back and reused the nest. My best friend bought one of those new homes and his yard faces the nest. It is very difficult to get pictures of it because there are a number of tall pines blocking the view. They have two growing babies that look very healthy, though ugly.

What a beautiful bird. That second shop with the wings open is excellent. It is a crying shame the sky is so bright, but what can you do? You gotta get it while you can.

All we have around here are ducks, geese and the occassional seagull.

Good shots. It's nice to have eagles living nearby. I understand Florida now has more eagles than any state other than Alaska. I know it's not uncommon to see them on the Gulf coast.

I was just informed today that The Miami Herald is going to publish my pictures in tomorrows edition. As soon as they do I will post the article. I am very excited.
