Been discussed thirty-seven times but I didn't come across a poll so have at it and vote for all that apply.

How many of you POTNers out there took at least some formal education in photography whether it was high school courses, college courses, a college degree, or simply self-taught?

I took about a week of high school photography and dropped the course when the teacher mentioned the word Aperture. A few years later, I can't get enough of all things photography...

I had photo class for 35mm film (and we moved to medium format and did some other stuff) but no classes for digital.

Completely self-taught. Girlfriend bought me a DSLR last year because she said I did good things with a point and shoot. Otherwise, I don't think I would have ever bought a DSLR, and for that, I thank her dearly.

took some classes cause I needed art credits for a degree. Learned most of what I know sitting at the break table of a film color lab back in th eighties from coworkers that wanted everyone to be the best photog they could be. Invaluable.
