Not better. The Tamron 10-24 is only slightly better than the older Tamron 11-18, and that is the least lens in the line-up of UWA zooms for crop.

Currently, the Tokina 11-16 F/2.8 is regarded as the best UWA zoom for APS-C, followed by the Canon 10-22, Tokina 12-24 and Sigma 10-20. The order of these last three always makes for a nice debate, but the Tamron never even figures in this debate. It is not as bad as some make it out to be, but it isn't in the same class as the rest, and neither is the 10-24.

Kind regards, Wim

I own a Sigma 10-20 and I did a test against a friend's EF10-22.There is not much difference. I wanted to buy the Tamron 10-24, however I did test it against 10-20 when I was at the store. I would say Sigma is better.
Hope it helps.
