Niagara UWA + CPL?

So I'm going to Niagara, looking to get a 11-16mm sometime before (Not just for the trip)... looking to get a good CPL to work with my lenses of size 58, 67, and the tokina 77mm..

Go big or go home, 77mm CPL + Step up rings will provide a CPL for all my lenses; however, a CPL generally causes unwanted variations in sky color on a UWA.

At the same time, I read a recommendation to use a CPL at Niagara to cut down on some of the misting to get better shots of the falls..

Would this be a case where i'd probably enjoy a CPL's benefits on an UWA regardless of its pesky sky coloration issues?

Just went there this past weekend

Yeah, a CPL will be helpful to cut through the mist - and the mist is a big issue when shooting Horseshoe Falls. Also, depending on whether the sky is blue or overcast, you may want a GND as well.

Some tips:
I shot the falls with a 16-35 and 24-70 on a 5D2. You'll want to go wide.
I stayed at Embassy Suites which gave me a great shot of the Falls from my room.
Wear comfy walking shoes.
The Canadian side gets much better shots of the Falls than the American side.
They shoot off fireworks on Friday nights.
Bring a tripod. They light up the falls at night.
Don't forget your passport
The Maid of The Mist boat ride is ok and will get your gear wet.
The Journey Behind the Falls isn't worth it(IMO) and your gear will get wet.

I'm not totally sure where I'm staying yet, other than I plan to stay on the Canadian side, which apparently happens to have the best shots available

I'm gonna have a great time

CPL + Blue sky = Dark and light blues across the photo, but what about CPL + overcast? Dark and light grayish blues across the photo? I'm thinking going that wide (17.6mm equiv) will only be necessary in a few areas so I won't have too much issue with the CPL..

I have a pano head, so that should help if I find the CPL + UWA causing issues I suppose..
