but on a rock. At my small local wetlands. Hoping they survive the coyotes. I think there were 10 originally.

Thanks guys I know it's not a great shot but I've been trying to get any reasonable shot of these guys since they showed up last weekend. We've had babies there the last few years and only a couple have made it out. There is a den (or maybe two) of coyotes in the same area that I see quite frequently. The entire area is only an mile around so 1/4 mile on each side. This small pond is kind of L-shaped and maybe 50 yards each way at the most, almost no more than a cattle pond.
Mitch this is the area I was talking about feed the birds and have been doing so every other day or so the past week. As well as feeding these mallards a bit, but the mom is very protective and keeps them away from me so the males and other ducks get the goods. Oh I did see another pair there today as well with just a single duckling.

Thanks for

And do you notice any new birds around? Is the food disappearing?

Oh yeah, but probably the dreaded squirrels. At least we have ducks now. :) :) :)

Hey I just stopped by the wetlands and took a shot of the pond and posted it with a comparison to last year over in the Nature and Landscapes Forum:
