Has anyone used one?? if so what do you think? I am looking at buying one as an alternative to tripod for when I go on holiday.

May 30, 2009 11:29 | #2 Just bought one for my Africa trip but not really had a chance to play with it. I added a Kirk QR platform as my camera already has a plate that fits it. Far too flimsy for the 50D with the 300 2.8 but works OK with the 10-22. As it's going to be used for taking night shots that should be fine. Frank Hollis - Retired mass spectroscopist

I loaded it down with a reasonably heavy setup and it still did the job. Ms.Jannie
