My copy should be arriving from B&H on Friday. Too bad the weather is going to be awful this weekend.

Glad to hear the 17 is on the way but a bit surprised the return/exchange/upgrade process takes so long to accomplish with the retailer.

Cheers!

Actually, it was very fast. The return was received and accepted in a week. I just wanted to wait a few weeks before buying the 17mm.

Can't wait to see what you accomplish with this lens, Kevin. Your cityscapes are already fantastic.

^^ Lovely....so how do you rate the sharpness compared to the 17-40?

Thanks. There's no question it's sharper than the 17-40. The tests done by the reviewer at the digital picture (external link) bear that out. I don't trust the 17-40 below f/8. This lens I would trust down to f/5.6. The shot I posted was shifted fully to the left. Even under those conditions, the IQ is very impressive. I'll likely sell my 17-40 and get a 1.4x extender. You use an extender, don't you? How does it perform?

^I really like it. I can't wait to put it through its paces. I just chose a bad time of the year to buy this lens. If it were spring and summer, I'd have so many more opportunities to shoot.

Looks good, Kevin! ;)

I use the 1.4 extender too and find it to still be very sharp but with a bit of added but fixable CA. It's a cost effective way of covering the 24mm focal length! I agree about this time of year not being ideal for outdoor shooting...maybe explore some indoor spaces in the meantime!

Cheers!

Cool shot - it's creativity like this that I need to explore more of with my TSE.

Haven't had a chance to stop by for a while, and there's been some great shots in here since last time! Here's a few that I've taken lately...

^Nice work Trebbble. How did you manage to sneak in a DSLR to the Raptor's game? I thought stuff like that wasn't allowed.
