B&H and Adorama take PayPal too. ;)

yeah, but I need money in my paypal account to use that?
my photo gear is run like a cash only business, if I don't have the funds I can NOT buy it. And I don't right now, so I need to raise them if I'm going to go for it.... Which is very tempting, trust me.

I'm hanging on to this lens forever (or until something better comes along!). The rest (sans the 15mm fisheye which I adore with all my heart as well) could be on the chopping block at any time :lol

every other lens i have is just pretty mediocre compared to those two, in terms of awesome-factor.

I just love tilt shift lenses and how perfect they render. no distortion, so many creative possibilities, etc. I honestly find it hard to do serious photography with a non-tilt shift lens these days due to the amount of control they give me. trying to swing the 45ts next.

Forget the 45 TS. Get the 24 TS MK II. ;)

haha I want both! thing is i am okay with cropping a bit to get to 24mm and never use filters, so i think the 45 will give me more bang for the buck in terms of options.

though i will own a 24 soon.

^ any of you guys tried your TS-Es with a TC? They take it remarkably well (I've owned the 24 45 and 90).

yeah, mine is, but bank = house account, paypal = business account. I've run it this way for three years now w/o every borrowing from the house account, this lens won't change that.

I really have to try the 17 with a 1.4x.. Otherwise I will go out and buy a 24Ts-e.

I really need something between the 17 and the 45..

Yes, you really should try the 1.4 extender! Especially for your work which is web sized presentations which can easily be sharpened up a touch in post to compensate for the very slight fall off in sharpness when using one.

Cheers!

yeah, sharpness is really not an issue for my usage..

What I care about is distortion and colors..

I shoot at F13 all the time so speed is not an issur either.

dear all,

I will be joining the club by the end of may :)
I am getting a second hand copy for 1600 euros
I always have been bad at wide angle images, I hope this baby will give me some focus creativity !

Will be on a 1D mk4
Next will probably be a 45 TS-E if and when the mkII is available ...

Now I will read the full thread again and enjoy your images once more :D

Alain

Here is a comparison between the 17mm + Canon 1.4x II @ f/5.6 and the 24mm @ f/5.6.

dolina > hello :)

I have read that you use the 1.4x to get a better focus control with the 17mm, could you please elaborate a bit ?

I am buying the lens for focus effect. I am not interested by miniature effect, I want to find artistic ways to play with the focus plane based on each subject.
