Wow, a lot of great information and examples here (no surprise). My request for a loaner from Canon CPS is approved and I should have the lens in a couple of weeks. I've already got a list of local places to visit when it arrives. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

I don't quite like how this vertorama turned out eventually. Microsoft's ICE did not want to play today so had to some unwanted tweaking to the saturation. I may revisit this later.

3 shot shift pano from Big Sur's McWay Falls after sunset. The sun was covered by a layer of clouds so the blue hour wasn't as spectacular as I hoped but this shot still turned out ok.

Luta that is very very cool. A simple but beautiful and skillful capture.

I was at this perfect waterfall with the perfect lighting and doing my thing and boom, 4 vans full of kids and tourists. :( I almost cried. Missed out on four shots I had in my head.

Here's one anyway.

Love the palm trees. Took an important money shot tonight. If lenses were food, the 24TSE would need its own food group!:

Had the scare of my lifetime just now.

Was going through some photos I took today and saw two with black bars at the 'top edge' of the frame. Both of these were when shifted one way.

I was playing around with the tilt and I think I went almost full tilt in those two shots. Both were one exposure of three (left, center, right) and (top, center, bottom) in the other. Both only showed it at the same shift exposures.

After gathering my breath together, I realize at full shift + full tilt, it is easily possible to have this happen.

Right? RIGHT? Somebody please confirm that for me so I can (finally) go to bed

Here's one of the shots, click for slightly larger
f/22, 8 seconds, the distance was probably a few feet.

Can someone try this with their lens?

1. Align both tilt and shift "axes" to coincide. As in you should be able to tilt and shift from side to side or top to bottom.
2. Shift to one extreme, let's say left.
3. Tilt to the other extreme end, the right, in this case.
4. Make sure the exposure is correct for the shot, on live view or otherwise.
5. Fire up the liveview and move the focus ring from one end to the other.

Do you see a black edge? I'm guessing that's the image circle's boundary.
