Thanks guys. This my 3rd try this year to get an epic sunset at this location, first try fog was rolling so no colors, second time most of the clouds went away as it got close to sunset time(I still got some nice shots but not what I was wanting). Even this time I was quite happy with how the tail end of the sunset turned, sure it was still nice but not as good as I was hoping for and I missed everything when the sun was still above the horizon. It's been pretty much a trend since I got my TS-E 24 that every time I go out to get a shot with it I don't get the shot I wanted for some reason or another, although I did still get some nice shots I'm going to keep trying until I get what I want(which I why I haven't been sharing anything yet).

I'm really disappointed I didn't try to get the sunset on one of the Sat prior to that last day, I was working at the customer and got done about the same time but didn't think I could make. That sunset ended up being the best one in my area so far this year that I saw(both with sun above and bellow horizon).

I find it bit ironic that I'd forget to focus being that I mostly shoot motor sports and wildlife so my AF speed/accuracy is usually on the top of my list of anything I'll use for them as well as my technique to get sharp subjects.

Was your photo above from Oceanside Pier in California? Nice Photo BTW! Not particularly easy to get a great sunset from that location.

Brown Santa just brought me a new lens! I see I have a learning curve ahead of me... just took a stroll to test it out.

Yes, it was Oceanside, CA. Most of my shots are from the north side of the pier(I started there on that day as well). The sun is as already getting pretty north so it's getting pretty tough to get a lot pier and the sun in the shot from the north side. Due to that I decided to run over to the south side to get that before the colors were gone.

I'll only shoot sunsets at this pier if I'm the area and it looks like we'll have a really good sunset or for silhouettes of the pier until later in the year when suns is further south again.

You know, many people recommend Zeiss 21mm to be very sharp lens and great for landscape, but this lens is also very sharp and with that shift feature in addition to tilt i put it as better and higher than this Zeiss 21mm, honestly speaking, if i will have given both lenses i will choose TS any day.
