Thanks! Indeed it is, the sharpness doesn't degrade like one would think. I recommend the combo.

The only niggle I have with the pair is that it introduces slight distortion where it was previously non-existent at 24mm. But, it's never proven to be something I couldn't correct in CS6.

Too good shots there Kenny.
I've yet to try the 24mm at 48mm but I'm not surprised it's still sharp. What I've found with the 2x is that if the lens is sharp to start with, the convertor doesn't cause much image degradation.

Anyone using the circle of 30º rotation + shifts both ways to get the full image circle?
Not something for every day but a nice option to have.
It's pretty fiddly! Almost need a checklist for each position at the moment. Get home and find I've missed a position.

This is just a single frame with some tilt.

Yup! Just once though. And this example is cropped a bit at the bottom just because there was way too much foreground, but it still came out to 7794 x 5316 resolution on my 5D II. It's an image of my house, but the corner there is quite tight. I think it's fair to state this method captures a full 90 degree view.

Here's my one and only attempt to date, I think it was 15 images, though my (feeble) maths makes it 13 images to cover shift up/down around 30 degrees, plus the central image, so I must have doubled up somewhere.

This ended up being 7395 x 9158 uncropped.

I need to sit down and shoot something like a large piece of graffiti on a wall to confirm I'm getting it right. This has the 77mm filter visible top and bottom but not the sides?
The lens has a 67.2mm image circle, compared to 43.2mm EF lens standard.
I think I remember reading somewhere that with shift, you can match a 17mm Field of View (which would be 93 degrees.)

I've let PS align it as well, I'll try it manually or avoid a foreground like this example. The rotate lever is awkward when you start using the inbetween angles and shift.

That all sounds about right. The tough part is picking how to crop it to make a rectangular image. If you take the time, you should be able to fill the blank areas with sky or ground with content aware to keep the FOV. I've often used content aware
to create " fake" imagery to give subjects space or to keep a FOV when cropping.

Looks great though!

I posted this about four or five posts above. It's actually not that great. Nothing that anyone who owns one of these doesn't already know.
