Did anyone have the Version 1 to this lens prior to getting the II? if so, was it a dramatic difference?

There is a huge difference, and in mechanics too.

I don't think you could rotate the tilt and shift independently in version 1.

Thanks to the advice of you chaps (esp xpfloyd) I only went and bought it!!!

I'm totally stunned by how good it is, how sharp it is, and how surprisingly versatile it is. Makes the 17-40 feel rather redundant.

Anyway, 1st go out in the field. This shot is a vertical pano using the shift function. No more smudgy edges, pretty much corner to corner pin sharpness :)

Sensational photo Rob. Did you use the 6D or the 5D for that one?

6d, it's all about the high ISO. I don't find 6400 acceptable on the 5d2

Nice work Kenny. I'm really wanting to grab the 2x converter. Maybe after wedding season when I have some spending money ; ) I took this one year ago yesterday. Can't believe it's been that long.

You have examples?

Tbh any polariser at 24 mm will do nasty things to the sky.
