My question is, on ordinary lenses when we move the metering to brighter area such as sky, the shutter speed will increase automatically...and vice versa.
But, on my ts-e 24mm lens the shutter speed is still and won't change. Is it normal?

That doesnt seem right. If on Av then shutter speed should alter automatically regardless of which lens is attached.

^This. 99% of the time I used mine on manual and in live view. Use x10 view to focus and go from there (or hyperfocal focussing).

Love these Kenny. In all my times in Edinburgh over my life I have never been up the Scott Monument. Seeing your view of the castle here is making me realise I should have!

The second one is really cool. Its like a google earth aerial photo. did you use any tilt on this one?

Thanks bud! At only £4 for entry I really suggest you get up there - even better in the winter mid-week when there aren't crowds - at the moment it's heaving with tourists as you can imagine. The Nelson Monument on Calton Hill is less visited, and offers more room at the top.

No tilt used, just full upward shift with the camera roughly 6 inches or so from the edge. Here's another version of this same view from 2011:

I also used this technique in Bologna, but at 97 meters I almost made myself sick:

I mean ordinary lens such as 17-40, the shutter speed will alter automatically when we move the metering (white rectangle) as long as evaluate metering is set.
Of course I won't use my ts-e lens in AV mode, my question is only to make sure that I have not received a defect lens...

I'm disappointed in myself. I brought my 24mm TS-E to NYC with me last week and over the weekend and never used it. Got some great shots with my other lenses, but never got around to breaking out the TS-E. I'm not worthy.
