Apologies if this has already been mentioned but Calumet currently has the Genesis 200 and 400 umbrella kits on sale at $295.99 and $495.99 respectively.

Thanks Dave. I've passed this information on to many people I know that are currently in the market for an entry level lighting kit. At those prices, and with Elinchrom compatibility, it's a no brainer. :D

My pleasure, Robert. The Genesis system is one of the lowest cost and best ways to gain entré to the world of Elinchrom modifiers. At $295, the two-light Genesis 200 kit is only $55 more than a single Canon 430EX II after rebate. Can't beat that.

No popcorn and armchair wars from me like some brand-name ddefenders out there, Rudi ... I'm just jealous as hell I don't have YOUR Elinchrom's in my kit (assuming you have the Manly black-n-grey models as compared to Poofer-Purple housings). Aaaaarrrgh! Don't hate me, purple purchasers.

The price on the 200 kit is listed at $369, price doesn't change when I add the kit to my cart. How do you get the discount?

When I started this thread, the Calumet splash page featured a banner proclaiming 20% off Genesis kits and showing the reduced prices. Gotta strike while the iron is hot, unfortunately. Perhaps a call to Calumet and a friendly salesperson will get you the discount.

Poofer-Purple? My "Poofer-Purple" 600RX's are on their way to Reno right now, Jason, to kick your Genesis 200's collective a$$. Tell your lights to be afraid; *very* afraid.
