This is a shot of my sister closest to me in age and my middle sister's only child. This was taken on mothers day. All my shots that day were candid shots (my favorite).
I just thought this made for an interesting crop so I did, and gave it a bit of pp.

Please tell me your thoughts on the crop and the PP. I did at one point change his eye brow to show a different face expression but decided that the original scowl made for a more interesting shot.

Before straight from camera.

WOW! There's a bit much sharpening in the hair I think looks a little pixelated but really great...care to share your tips?

I do like the crop... I am wondering if the PP would look better in B and W

Um I don't think I did any sharpening. oh wait, Yeah I did a mild high pass with a vivid blend mode then reduced opacity.
Leahmt, I do see it now, a sat reduction or full B&W would look good. I was experimenting not really trying to fit PP to the picture. I meant to mention that this was first time trying these setting or this style if you will.

Not a full B&W, I rarely do that but try this out. ;)

Oh yeah sorry I almost forgot, dup layer, change blend mode to OVERLAY, add a mild-med GB, , then add adjustment curved layer to your liking. Wait I have to back up a bit...

First I added a blank layer and got out the spot removal tool. Took care of a few of sis's blems and wrinkle :) and all the lent on Jayden's shirt, combined all that and then did the above.

Next I duped layer again, add a mild High pass, change that layer to VIVID blend mode and adjust opacity to taste masking out what you don't want sharpened.

NO I DON"T paint in with any GB layers. I do one over all GB and adjust colors and sharpen to my liking. Only time I paint in GB is when I am going for that look or someone needs a LOT of help with there complexion and even then I use just a tad to keep it natural looking.

I like the original edit more. The second one is nice, too, but got a little too dark (vignette?)
