This effect is something i have wanted to try for a while, but havent had the gear to pull it of. Last three images is from the same session just other location.
All shots taken with Canon 30D and Canon EF 24-70 2.8L or Canon EF 70-200 2.8L
C&C apreciated and welcomed!

That second waterfall shot is killer!

Nice shots. I totally agree that shooting in direct sunlight only works if you have enough power to balance the sun.
Cant wait to try this when I just get my ranger rx

depends upon distance etc, and when sun blocked by clouds its even more fun :-)

I agree with both of you, but you get a lot more flexible with portable studio lighting.

It's a studioflash that works on battery so you can use it on location.

BTW did you use softbox or bare strobe?
For me it looks like no modifiers was used
