In the past I have been relying on some very basic post programs such as Apple's iPhoto and ArcSoft's photostudio. These are very rudimentary and outdated programs.

Obviously it's time to upgrade. What next? Do I need to go out and buy Photoshop? Obviously I'd need to take a class in how to use it too.

Any advice as how to proceed will be appreciated.

Thanks!

What do you do to images when editing? I think for most people LR2 would suffice.
Unless you want to do pixel editing. In that case you'll need Photoshop (Elements)
