So I came across an add on a local website:

1300$ Canon EOS 5D Mark II / EF 24-105 f4 L IS USM Kit. Very little use and in "Like New Condition". Original box and accessories + an extra after-market battery and charger. Latest software updates. USA Purchase w/5 months left on warranty.

Seems ridiculously low for this, yes / no? But can't help but wonder...anyway was just curious what others thought. I was thinking that even if something is wrong even having to pay to get fixed might end up still making out on the deal? or I'm I blinded by full frame tunnel vision?

I am sure after you send your money to Nigeria via western union, that your camera will be shipped out the next day.....

Yes, $2200 less than current retail seems a little low.

But the seller's rich uncle has all this money trapped in swiss banks that he can't get out without your help!

If you could meet up with the seller at a police station or a bank, you could try it. Personally though, I wouldn't bother.

Wow....it's either a classic or a scam.

maybe a good idea... because you 'never' know. & it'd be great you be 'that guy' that got that awesome deal. right now on CL there is a 100mm 2.8 macro for 300 I'd LOVE to pick up if I had the cash right now, I dont even know why I peek on there... just to see great deals on stuff I can't have I guess.

Was this a Craigs list post? It soulds like it. There have been posts like that for the last several years. If you follow the trail eventually you will get to a point where the seller tries to get you to forward the $$$ with the promise that the equipment is on it's way using some "safe" shipper. Don't know how it progresses from there as I've never know anyone take it that far but i am assuming that somehow the $$$ changes hands without any equipment actually being shipped.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

If the ad is a private seller then I'd spend the time to go look at it. After all it is in fact used and perhaps just a good buy.

Otherwise if a business ad or a non-local seeker, then I'd expect some sort of scam.

BTW, if the ad came off NY Craigslist it has already been deleted as spam!

Could be stolen, or a bait ad to lure someone to a local pickup and then mug them for the money.

Either way, I'd be avoiding this one

LOL

is he from Africa too?

anyway, I will proceed with high cautious....seems too good to be true, just the lense itself can easily get you $600-$800 back.
