My wife decided to get her hair highlighted for our vacation this weekend. I tried taking some photos this morning before work, but they don't seem to be all that sharp. The light source was from the right. it's a homemade softbox. The camera was on a tripod, but IS was on. Should I always turn IS off while using a tripod?

Yes, turn off IS if you are using a tripod.

It's a lens not a lense!

Test 2. Different lens, no IS on. Seems much more sharp to me. Hopefully its not just my eyes.

Exif data is intact. I was focusing on her right eye.

it was on a tripod. And I realized what happened with the red tint. I had moved the tint down, but didn't realize it didn't stick. Here's the updated tinting.

not too bad at all! I really like the first one except that (others mentioned that) the shutter speed is too slow so it's not as sharp as I would like it to be. I would recommend to do some retouching here.
