HDTV pics look awesome

I was looking at some 50" HDTV the other day and I brought a usb drive with me that held some 50D pics on it. Some tv's have a usb port and I asked the store clerk if I could take a look at screen quality by looking at my pics...since I would be doing alot of that at home anyways. I was amazed at how awesome they look! I wasnt terribly interested in getting a new tv unil I saw just how good the pics were. Looking at them on the computer screen was nice, but now that ive seen what they can really look like the computer screen pales in comparison. JUST AMAZING!

Well, for editing I would stick to the monitor -- it is a higher resolution, but for a "wow" in showing photos to friends and family, there's nothing like a big screen HDTV!

I have a 42" LCD in my office, connected to the PC via VGA (HDMI was too difficult). It looks great! I show my customers photos on it all the time

PCs are way easier for using a PC, but TVs are great for display.

I was planning on setting up a sort of "creative coffee shop" back when I actually had the money to do something like that, where photographers could put together slide shows and run them on big screen TVs -- kind of like a sports bar scenario for the graphic arts...it could have been fun...
