Hubby - needs PP

I love this shot of my husband. My laptop with photoshop is in the shop (no pun intended) so I wasn't able to do any PP on this shot except for a bit in DPP. I really like how this shot turned out.

I know his head and chin are cut off, but it works okay for me (is there a rule about that???). When I get my laptop back I will try and brighten the eyes. I haven't done much with skin smoothing or removing blemishes (ie. blackheads). Anyone have a suggestion for that or any PP tips as that is not my strongest area.

It really doesn't need much PP... I also like this a lot.

I am at work but I can touch it up for you when I get home in the morning.......

I like your shot a lot and mine may not be any improvement but Im trying to practice as much as I can so I did a couple plays....hope you like them.

I see alot of red in this photo but it could be my monitor as I am on my work laptop.
Here is a quick play(take it for what it is worth because this monitor is not calibrated and colors may be wonky )

It is a little red. My huband has a bit of a red tone to his skin too which doesn't help. I like your take... did you lower saturation?Thanks for taking a look.

I like the first one... it looks a bit brighter, less red than original. Did you adjust levels, curves?? Also, what did you do to smooth skin?

Thanks! I did a curves adjustment and then boosted the brightness and contrast. I used the blemish tool set pretty with low opacity and hit the nose and just outside the nose on the cheeks for the blackheads you mentioned but that's all for the skin. I lightened his eyes too.

Thanks for all the takes... I like some brightening of the eyes and it looks like a little teeth whitening on a couple.
